• This course provides the students with the
    basic principles of tour guiding.  It
    also discusses the general overview of the tourism industry including the
    different components, where tour guiding comes in as a major component of tour
    operation.  Students are taught how to do
    research of the various destinations and from there, create a commentary  based on the guidelines of commentary-making.  Application of the principles learned is
    applied through  mock tour and critiquing
    is done on a one-on-one basis.  Final
    commentary is the output at the end of the course where students are made to
    deliver a memorized spiel which can be done inside or outside the campus.

  • The course is designed for students to apply tourism planning  and development concepts in destination resort properties while keeping in mind economic, legal and physical factors in the use, transfer, development and administration of lands for purposes of tourism. The emphasis is on Sustainable Tourism. At the end of the course, students are required to come up with a resort development concept paper.

  • This subject is intended to be an informative overview of a developing and dynamic field of Tourism. It explores major concepts in tourism, its components, what makes tourism different among any other industries and how tourism can become an important factor in the wealth of a developing country. This covers an overview on the study of tourism and
    the status and trends of tourism industry in the country. This course also looks at the various that sectors which comprises the tourism system and how they interact with each other.
